Following months of increasing pain in both hips, with doing everyday things becoming more difficult, I went to see Mr Malek, mainly based on the reviews on this site….best decision I could have made. From the first consultation I knew that I could not be in better hands. After looking at my x-rays we decided that my left hip was in worse condition so that would be the one to tackle first. Mr Malek explained everything so calmly and simply, he put me at ease straight away. I had my left hip replaced on 15th March at West Mids Hospital and 4 days later I was crutch free and was back dog walking and doing office work after 3 weeks. Through Mr Malek’s minimal invasive surgery technique I have a scar of around 4 inches long and I am pain free in my left leg. I have just had my 6 week check, we discussed my right hip and when the time comes, there is no one else who I would want to do that op other than this calm, professional, wonderful yet humble man. Mr Malek is truly a magician!

After receiving very little support from my NHS Doctors regarding recent falls and pain in my left hip I contacted Rowley Hall hospital where I received a prompt appointment. I immediately had an X Ray followed by a consultation with Mr Malek. He advised I had no cartlidge around my hip joint and gave me 3 options and of the 3 I chose to have a hip replacement. I immediately felt confident that this was the right decision. Mr Malek talked through the procedure and to be honest I could not wait. I had suffered for 7 years with pain and discomfort and for the last 3 years taken medication to ease this. Unfortunately last year this medication no longer worked. I work for prison service and 59 years of age. I was struggling to walk. Simply walking in to work took huge energy levels. I was unable to run anymore or even walk my dogs. It impacted on my social life. If I hadn't had this operation when I did I would have lost my job as I would not have been able to work. I have Grandchildren and this was massively impacting on my time with them. I know the NHS would have said I was too young to have this operation but it has made a massive difference to my life. I am no longer in pain and back in the gym. Granted my other hip will need replacing at some point but for now I have a better quality of life. I had my operation in Nov 23. The care Mr Malek gave me was more than I could have hoped. I have recently been discharged with the very best outcome and would only want Dr Malek to do my other hip when the time comes. The whole procedure and recovery was outstanding. I am extremely grateful to Mr Malek for his expertise giving me my life back. Thank you Mr Malek.

Mr Malek is a lovely, caring, professional gentleman. Having been in pain for months from my arthritic hip, am now back to golf, cycling and walking several miles a day with no problem at all. Excellent care and a fantastic result.

For nearly ten years I put up with chronic pain in my left hip, which left me increasingly unable to do normal "mum" things. Certainly no taking part in Sports Day! As the pain worsened, it impacted my ability to do the shopping, walk our dog, work - in fact everything. There was absolutely no escape from the pain - not sitting, standing, lying down. Obviously this was then impacting my ability to get any sleep at all. I was depressed by constant pain and lack of sleep. The NHS did eventually x-ray and find that my left hip was "bone on bone" and my right hip wasn't in good condition either. Unfortunately the NHS were pushing me not to have a hip replacement because I was considered too young. My fantastic husband encouraged me to find a private practitioner who would do the replacement. Wow Mr Malek was amazing. Without needing to yet again run through all the ways my hip was impacting my life, he understood what I was going through and how depressed I felt about constant pain and poor mobility. His care was exemplary. I had a tiny scar and a very quick recovery. When my right hip became painful, there was no question of who I would see. Mr Malek was great and got my hip replaced quickly and without a fuss. The difference it has made to my life is incredible. I walk my dog, shop til I drop, dance, swim and I really do feel I could tackle anything. I can not recommend him highly enough.

I have had a full knee replacement with Mr Malek who is just amazing, start to finish so calm and reassuring and explains everything in such a gentle manner. I am 12 months on now and doing really well, my knee replacement was after a horse-riding accident and I have been limited with my movement and pain for 9 years now. Already 12 months on I can walk 7 miles and can 'lock' my knee back and bend. No more stabbing pains or it giving way. Mr Malek also came to see me the night I had my operation before he went home which was a really nice touch, especially as it was so late in the evening, it was also incredibly noticeable how much respect he treated the other staff no matter what level and was taking time to speak with them and share a bit of humour, he was clearly very respected by the whole team which spoke volumes to me as a HR Manager. I can't thank Mr Malek enough or the team at Rowley Park - You are all awesome. A special shout out to the Head of the Physio team who was also absolutely amazing in my recovery, so knowledgeable, kind and really innovative in her approach. Thank you
